Coaches

Head Coach

Don Lukowski has been Coach of Boys Tennis at Newington for 27 years. He also led the team to a CCC South Conference Championship in 2006 and placed 2nd in the CCC South Blue Conference in 2016 & 2021.  Prior to coming to Newington, Coach Don was Boys Tennis Coach at Saint Thomas Aquinas High School in New Britain for 17 years.  Coach Don has also been inducted into the New Britain Sports Hall of Fame. Coach Don has a career record of just over 300 wins between the 2 schools.

Coach Don is a self-employed Municipal Land Records Auditor and is a graduate of the University of Hartford.  Coach resides in New Britain.

Assistant Coach

Michael Galante

Mike Galante has joined us as our new assistant coach!   Mike is a great player, having played tennis most of his life.  Mike went to Providence College where he was a walk on member of the tennis team.  Mike enjoys the game and enjoys teaching the younger players the needed skills.  I am very happy to have Coach Mike with us this year!  Coach Mike resides in Newington with his wife and family.

Volunteer Coach

Paul Cohen of Berlin will be joining us this year as a volunteer assistant coach.  Paul is recently retired from the business world and will be helping us out this year.  Paul is an accomplished player - having taught clinics and camps when he was younger.  An experienced player - Paul brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to our team.

Volunteer Coach

Ryan Fuffo of Newington has joined our staff this spring as a volunteer coach.  Ryan played for Newington Tennis and currently is employed at the East Hartford Racquet Club.  We are pleased to have Ryan as part of our staff!
